Overcoming Challenges and Gaining Knowledge: Third Quarter Takeaways

Image
Third quarter is near to end. I experienced   and learned a lot of new things such as making CBR, making a webpage/s, and discover new tags.   Third quarter was fun but we can't avoid problems or challenges despite how easy the tasks that were given. One of the problem i encountered was the making of webpages. I had a hard time to look for tags that i can use for the webpages assigned on me, luckily we have a leader that's always ready to help and teach us. Another problem or challenge was the understanding how CBR works or what's the focus or why we are conducting CBR. I was confused at first but when we started it, i got more confused, so funny right? But it was actually fun. I'm also curious about how I survived those challenges and problems. Well, the one thing I'm sure that i did to be able to survive is, ask for help if I'm struggling. Aside from asking for help, I also practice and search for tags that i can use during my free time. This quarter wa...

Why Chinese New Year Matters to Filipinos?

Image
This reflects the rich cultural diversity of the country and strong historical ties with the Chinese community. For many centuries, Chinese merchants and settlers have been part of Filipino society, contributing not only to the economy but also to local traditions and values. Their influence is still evident in Filipino cuisine, language, and festivities, especially in the observance of Chinese New Year. Filipinos are always naturally attracted to the celebrations which encourage gaiety, good luck, and prosperity- values deeply embedded in Chinese New Year customs. Traditions such as the dragon and lion dances and lighting up firecrackers in hopes of abolishing bad luck; sharing tikoy or sticky rice cake have become part of Filipino festive culture. Malls, schools, and communities across the country hold events to commemorate the occasion, filling the air with excitement for everyone to feel. Beyond cultural appreciation, the recognition of Chinese New Year as a special non-working hol...

Vigan's Transformation: The Road to Cityhood

Image
Vigan, the capital of Ilocos Sur, is place rich in history, tradition, and culture. Known for it's well-preserved Spanish colonial architecture that has been recognized as a symbol of the Philippines with it's colonial past. But before it became a thriving city as it is today, Wigan was once just a simple municipality. Before achieving cityhood, Vigan was once a municipality with strong agricultural and trading economy. As municipality, it primarily relied on local businesses, tourism, and agriculture to sustain its economy. Despite its historical significance, development was gradual, with just limited resources and space for large infrastructure projects. Vigan became a city on September 7, 2001, through Republic Act No. 8988, which ratified in a plebiscite. This transition marked significant change in governance, economic state, and infrastructures.  The tourism industry flourished even more, with city being recognized as a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE. Preserved and well-m...

We even shared the most unforgettable moments happened all throughout the year.  Amidst the festivities, I took time for personal relaxation by doing shoppings and traveling. I also took time to spend time with my cousins.  Overall, i spent my Christmas vacation with family and made new memories before the year ended

Crafting New Me for New Year

Image
As the calendar turns to 2025, the familiar mantra “New Year, New Me” resonates with many of us. This phrase embodies the desire for personal growth and positive change. However, the journey toward self-improvement is nuanced, and understanding how to navigate it can make all the difference. It’s important to approach the new year with self-compassion. Understand that setbacks are a natural part of any journey toward change. Instead of being discouraged by them, view them as opportunities to learn and grow. Remember, the goal is progress, not perfection. I will embrace the journey ahead with optimism and determination, knowing that each small step brings you closer to the best version of myself.

My Journey with HTML

Image
This school year’s second quarter is coming to an end. Yeah, the first quarter is about to end, it feels like a dream right? It feels like yesterday I was just struggling to create my blog account. A lot of things happened but I'm glad I survived all those challenges. This quarter taught me new things and skills, and I discovered a lot of interesting things in the past in the field of Information and Communication Technology. It was exciting to see a simple HTML tag turn into something creative on my screen. Finding out how these tags make a webpage became my big achievement. At the start, i was having a hard time remembering the tags and wasn't sure how to use them. It was hard and confusing to organize the codes in a way that can make sense and sometimes i experienced errors, which made me feel so frustrated. As my journey with HTML is a little bit challenging, i make time to practice creating simple web page designs and as i learn with the basics i started to go ...

Protection to Progress

The Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004, or Republic Act No. 9262, is a Philippine law that protects women and their children from violence and abuse in every form. It was enacted on March 8, 2004, to comprehensively provide a legal framework aimed at addressing all sorts of physical, sexual, psychological, and economic abuse that is committed by a partner or a person with a relationship with the victim-whether spouse, ex-spouse, live-in, or even just a date. The law recognizes the special vulnerabilities of women and children, and its aim is their protection through preventive and remedial measures, including Protection Orders, filing of criminal cases, and provision of support services. This law also focuses on the State's role in ensuring that justice is served to victims. It mandates numerous institutions, such as the police, health care providers, and local government units to immediately extend assistance and help protect the rights of a victim. The penal...
